Chairman Venky Rajgopal tells LIBA students that aspirations of the young are his driving principle
As a premium menswear brand, Indian Terrain’s avowed ambition is to stay in step with the booming aspirations of a young Indian spirit in style and quality. When the brand was founded in year 2000 and the country was opening up to a new century of limitless possibilities. Indian Terrain’s founder felt that there was an opportunity to create a line of clothing which would match the contours of the ambitions of the young.
Venky Rajgopal, Chairman, Indian Terrain Fashions Ltd, speaking to around 250 students of the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) as part of its ‘Beyond Management Initiative’ on ‘Building the Indian Terrain brand’ said: “The world is changing around you and if you’re a clothing company that aspires to stay in step with this burgeoning, young community then you need to be in step with those aspirations. That was the driving principle behind how the brand was started 17 years ago. I realise that even today that has to be the driving principle if a clothing company has to remain relevant, interesting and engage with this community of consumers.”
