Mr. Aditya Narayan Mishra – Director & Group CEO, Ma Foi.

LIBA was fortunate to have Mr. Aditya Narayan Mishra, Director & Group CEO, Ma Foi at the Beyond Management Initiative Session held on 24th October, 2018. He shared his valuable insights on the topic “Campus to Corporate”.

Briefing on his transition from an HR Executive, Mr. Aditya mentioned that through Ma Foi he had the opportunity to work with more than 1000 companies with regard to recruitment. In his point of view, whether it is the transition of life or the transition from campus to corporate, life depends only on two principals that needs to be questioned. How do you manage yourself? and how do you manage your relationship?

When it comes to life, each individual prioritizes them but they fail to understand what is expected of them from the perspective of family, friends and of course from the organization. In career, expectations differs from educational institutes to what an organization needs. Adding to his point, he said that timeline while studying is stringent than expectations from organizations but still the way of meeting deadlines matters more in the organization. The way in which you approach an activity matters in an organization that is best seen as the legacy of trait that you leave behind in your workplace.

He believes that when an organization focuses more on its outcomes then eventually the occurrence of global financial crisis can’t be stopped. All the departments in an organization have their own set of targets to accomplish in order to reach their long-term goals. He cited examples of a Coco-Cola company where the actual target is set in winter season where consumers prefer hot beverages. He emphasized on one of the most vital part of life, Health which impacts the outcome of our work and in turn affects the deliverables. People who think they are healthier in their youth cannot assure the same as they grow older. Hence, he says work & life has to go    hand-in-hand with equal amount of space.

Dealing with the relationships that each individual comes across during college life are mainly concerned with four major segments: they are the friends, close friends, parents and teachers who often play a crucial role. Every relationship has its own expectation and demands, further he quoted an example where in olden days expectations were written on stones but nowadays they are hardly written on water, not even on sand. Such are the expectations we are obliged to meet in a fast moving world. Stressing on the fact on ways to interact with co-workers, his advice was to cordially interact with people who are not in good tempo with us mainly because we may be dependent on them to complete various tasks. He mentioned that now a days employees are getting 3600 feedback from their subordinates, co-workers, boss, suppliers as well as customers, hence maintaining a stable relationship with everyone helps to build a strong network in an organization.

Concluding on his speech, he said companies evaluates performance not only based on outcomes, but also the way in which an employee approaches a problem, analyses the right ingredients and derives solution from it. Overall the session was interactive and filled with organizational insights on how to maintain relationship with our fellow employees.
