It was an illuminating and engaging experience for the students of Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai, when Mr. Justin Jesudas, Deputy General Manager (Research & Analytics) of Cognizant Technology Solutions, addressed the students on January 23, 2019. Mr. Jesudas is also an international level swimmer and a two time national champion in 10 meter rifle shooting for his category. The session was a part of a guest lecture series hosted by the Beyond Management Initiative club of LIBA.
Mr. Jesudas inspired the students with his life story, which is a gripping tale of courage and grit. It was in the year 2009 when he got injured severely in a car crash and suffered from a spinal cord injury which left his body paralyzed below his neck. The initial phase post this traumatic accident was very tough but he decided to challenge his limitations and is today a successful manager, a champion sportsperson and above all a man full of life.
Reflecting on his life journey, Mr. Jesudas said, “Impairment is not inflicted upon you due to physical limitations but because of the way the society treats you. You can either be a victim of circumstances or choose to be a hero; the choice is yours”
Mr. Jesudas advised the students to simplify challenges by breaking them down into doable bits and planning and acting towards incremental success.
