Day one started with an enlightening session by Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ Director, on ‘AI – How has it changed the learning styles’. The presentation showcased the changes in learning styles due to the impact of AI on learning. This was followed by a session on ‘Organizations – Enabled with Technology – (with special emphasis on LIBA’s IT Infrastructure)’. Technical overview & LIBA campus tour on technology was given by IT team and ROX (Technology partners). In the afternoon the team travelled to Mahabalipuram best known for the UNESCO world Heritage Site of 7th and 8th Century Hindu Group of Monuments, introducing them to the rich history and the value of South Indian arts.
On day two the sessions revolved around the importance of AI in modern learning approaches, emphasizing how AI could reshape education paradigms by tailoring learning styles to individual needs. This was followed by a ‘Supervised Learning Lab Session’ facilitated by Dr. Shyni Carmel Mary and Dr. Kishore Kunal and a session by Dr. M. Ramasubramaniam on ‘Applications of Machine Learning in Academic Research’. Dr. Ramasubramaniam discussed how ML could be utilized in academic research for data analysis, predictive modeling, and result optimization. This provided the attendees a broadened perspective of ML, giving them a grasp on its versatile applications across various research domains.
Day three was dedicated entirely to Generative AI, the focus of this day was on understanding and utilizing generative models like GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) and Autoencoders. The ‘Generative AI Overview’ session provided a detailed explanation of the workings of generative models, their role in creating new data instances, and their use across multiple industries. Rev. Fr. Director closed the programme with a Gathering of Graces and Examen followed by lunch. The faculty of St. Aloysius were overwhelmed by the hospitality and cordiality extended to them throughout their stay at LIBA and profusely thanked the team at LIBA who had hosted their stay. The three-day event empowered the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to better educate their students, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving technological landscape. The FDP emphasized the significance of continuous learning and adapting, inspiring attendees to perpetually seek knowledge and stay abreast with advancements in AI.
