LIBA organized a three-day Staff Retreat for the supporting staff from 1st to 3rd June 2022. The annual staff retreat is an important part of the institution’s strategy to promote staff bonding and generate new ideas for the year. This is pivotal to the staff’s harmony and productivity. Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, SJ – Director, encouraged staff to adopt the agile mode of working. He stressed that Innovation and Expansion were the goals for this academic year and explained how it could be achieved by implementing the 3 R’s – RRR- Review, Reflection and Re-organization. Prof. P.C. Lakshmi Narayanan, Dean-Academics spoke about the value of the work and the workers, while Rev. Fr. Louie Albert, SJ, Dean-Administration touched upon how to align with the Vision and assess the progress and motivated the staff to work in the cross-functional method. The session continued with presentations by representatives of each department. On day two, Rev. Fr. Jacob, SJ, presided over the programme as guest speaker and gave inputs on how staff could improve the workplace and upskill themselves and focus on having cordial professional relationships which would result in mission excellence. Wellness activities by the Centre for Wellbeing were also included to promote team spirit and create an awareness of holistic wellness. On day three a day out to MGM Dizzee World theme park, concluded the exercise giving the staff a totally refreshing and rejuvenating experience.
